HOW TO BECOME A BETTER PARENT

How to become a better parent may not be the number one concern of those who happened to produce a kid for a reason that is different from love, but surely it is for those whose first reason to have a child is love. Hence, this piece is written for those who became a parent merely out of love for love, to love, to be loved, spread love.

Every child is unique, so is every parent, so is every home. Hence every situation you experience with your kids is unique and special. Good ones bring happiness, bad ones teach lessons and strengthen you all only if you manage to remain lovingly constructive, respectfully leading, compassionately logical, and rational all the way.

That is the best strategy to manage any crisis and become a better parent. However, most parents who constantly seek a way to become better parents don't really know who they are. They think they know who they are but all they know is their ideal self, not their real self. Hence, every parenting technique they try to implement fails.

Parenting with love and compassion.

So, the first step to becoming a better parent is to know who you truly are. If you don't, you will end up projecting all your flaws onto your child. Work hard to free yourself from the pain of what your parents failed to give or refused to give you. Heal all the wounds they caused in you. Do not use your child as a tool to heal yourself. That is wrong and a heavy burden for any child.

Secondly, make sure your marriage is working and filled with love and compassion. If you don't have that, do not even try to have a child. If you happened to already have one or two and then work on your marriage on a daily basis as well as on yourself and your parenting skills. Remember, if there is not enough love and compassion in your home, everything you try will fail.

Only and only then, you can read the subtext of what your kids tell you. Only and only then you can hear their silence. The Purple little book titled "Please Don't Leave Mum," by S.Y.Turner shows how kids can see, feel and hear more than you think you allow them to. Melissa, the main character of the book, tells how she feels and copes with her parents' words and actions.

Please Don't Leave Mum

It is more effective to teach anything to your kids and transform them through story reading and analyzing it with them. And "Please Don't Leave Mum" by S.Y.Turner is a great book to start with. It is available on AmazonApple, and Google Play You will become a better parent as long as you approach your kids with love, compassion, and wisdom.

THE GIRL WHO ATE HER OWN HAIR

"The Girl Who Ate Her Own Hair" is a fairly new book by S.Y. Turner. It has a lot to offer. Is it as entertaining as Dr.Seuss' books, you might wonder. Does it have to be? Not really.
Sure,it would be such a glorious ignorance not to mention Dr.Seuss and his fascination with unborn babies when it comes to children's books. He is the most amazing story doctor kids have ever seen.

He produced 60 books for children yet had no child of his own. Because he believed that he wrote for people not for kids. What did that mean exactly?

Dr.Seuss

It meant kids are not what or who we think they are, they have more than fives senses even when they are in the uterus of their mummies. They are as capable as we are of understanding and interpreting things. And Dr. Seuss was right.

And the way he ruled the words as he wished and drew what he wrote in the most astonishing way can make any aspiring and professional author envious. It is only apparent to the wise eyes how many stages his stories have gone through to become what they are. They are all incredibly brilliant work of kids' literature.

However we live in a different time. A time that is more problematic than ever.

Kids have problems that no parent has enough time to notice. Yes, parents have to work hard and long becuase it is more expensive than ever to live.Hence, kids struggle to overcome their problems alone most of the time. "The Girl Who Ate Her Own Hair" is written exactly for those kids. The kids who try to solve their problems on their own, the kids who don't even know that they have a problem.

"Entertaintment is great but it does not help kids to express themselves, it forces them to act like everything is okay. What if everything isn't okay? Are we going to continue entertertaining them or are going to give them a voice through the stories they read?

Well, we better give them voice now. They can then and only then truly enjoy the entertaining part of the literature," says S.Y.Turner.

That must be the reason why most of S.Y.Turner's books are desgined to solve the problems which kids cannot confess even to themselves. "The Girl Who Ate Her Own Hair" is one of 36 books she has produced so far. Felicity eats her hair. Why? Does anyone even know she does that? No! Why? That is the main premise of the book

The Girl Who Ate Her Own Hair

"The Girl Who Ate Her Own Hair" is written in rhyme but is not obsessed with it. Its message is too important and big to be ruined by such an obsession. It is available on Amazon, Apple,Barnes and Noble.
